Dynamic Friday Challenge Perfect Blend

As you may remember from other blog postings, I love combining challenges.  This one is a combination between the challenge on Dynamic Duo and on The Friday Mashup.  Dynamic Duos challenge was to use Perfect Plum and any other color choice.  I chose to use Elegant Eggplant (and my neutrals are Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake... and there's a bit of Very Vanilla in there, too).

On The Friday Mashup, there was an ABC 123 challenge.  To add elements that start with the letters A, B, and C (you know, like Cup of Coffee) or use 1 embellishment (ribbon), 2 stamp sets (Perfect Blend and Six-Sided Sampler), and 3 colors (Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, and Chocolate Chip (and Crumb Cake... ooops... that's 4 colors... really 5 if you have to count the Very Vanilla lid).

So, I've been saving my empty tubes of toilet paper and paper towels to make these cute little holders.  If you cut down a long paper towel tube, you can make a sweet gift card holder.  The shorter toilet paper tubes would make great small gift or candy holders.  Can you say recycle?
I started with a large piece of Elegant Eggplant and crumpled it up and really broke down the fibers in the paper.  Then I embossed a strip of Perfect Plum.  Next I stamped the coffee cup from Perfect Blend in Chocolate Chip on Crumb Cake and cut that out.  I stamped the sleeve again on Perfect Plum and then stamped "thanks much" in eggplant on it.  I cut that out and attached.  Next the lid was stamped on vanilla and cut out.  I had to add a little flower (in eggplant) and then added a little pearl (ooops... a second embellishment?)

Here you can see an empty toilet paper tube folded the way that I folded down each side.

So cute!

Thanks for looking!
