Sweet Santa Dresses Using Dress Up Framelits

How sweet is this Ms. Clause frame?

I just got my new framelits, Dress Up, and I am totally in love with this tool!  I have been making all kinds of dress cards and frames, but I had the idea to do three different dresses.  A girl's gotta have options.

Ms. Clause get's three options, all of them fancy in it's own way.
Here are some close ups of the dresses.
Do you notice the pearl necklace?
How about the big red stone on this one?

It's  a great gift for the woman who has everything and likes to decorate for the holidays.  The cost is $25.00.  Email me or message me your order!

Family Frame for Thanksgiving

One of my holiday decorations this year is going to be this lovely Family frame.  I think it ties right into the colors of Thanksgiving and fall.  The burlap frame just screams fall, too!

If you would like one of these frames, send me an email or message me.  I'd be happy to help you.  $20.00.  The colors are also customizable for your decor.  It would make a great hostess gift for Thanksgiving.  It would also be a great gift for someone this upcoming holiday season!

Let me know if I can help you.

Crazy for Cupcakes and The Friday Mashup

This week on the Friday Mashup the ladies gave us a color challenge of  using Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate, and Basic Gray.  Or we could make a card with cake.  Or we could mash-it-up and make card in those colors and a cake.

This is what I came up with.  I saw a card with the window in the front.  I really liked that style.  I made one other card with a larger opening, but this time I used a smaller opening to match better with the size of the stamp.  I also cut out a cabana colored frame around the opening.

Across the front I have a curry strip with the message "Happy Birthday" across the front in the cabana color.

Inside, I added a white panel with the stand of cupcakes in the center.  I colored the cupcakes in cabana and curry cherries (I figured they're the Mt. Rainier cherries!) The bases are colored in Crumb Cake.
Here's a view of the inside.

I think it's quite charming.

Too Kind Dynamic Duos!

This week I used the challenge over on Dynamic Duos to create this card.  Their challenge this week was to use the colors Wisteria Wonder and Perfect Plum.  Yes, I think I will!

I created this card, which I got from one of the wonderful blogs I follow.  The creator of the card created an opening in the front of the card with the framelits and then had a piece crossing the front of the card and opening.  I loved the idea so I used it to do the same thing on this card.

I started with a piece of Smoky Slate.  I used the framelit to create a window in the front of the card.  I lined the inside of the card with a piece of Whisper White.  I used my Too Kind set, which I love, to create these beautiful two toned flowers.
Across the front of the opening, I added the sentiment, "Sending Good Thoughts your way." I stamped that in Perfect Plum.  Added it to piece of slate, and added a plum ribbon.

I am quite pleased with it!

Your Choice Class

I know it has been forever since I've offered a class.  I really wasn't sure of a direction I wanted to head.  So I am offering it all to you!

I have the coffee set of cards listed above.  The bottom two cards are basically the same, and inside the card is a pocket for a gift card!  So fun.  I love this little set.  $10.00 for this one.

Then I have a sweet little 4 card set of Christmas cards.  Inside is a matching sentiment.  So fun and simple and sweet!  I love it!

Here are the other two.  Each of these cards has a little something extra on the front.  Most of it takes about an hour to dry (we'll do this set first).  If you want more, you can make multiple sets.  You can't really see it in the pictures, but each of the top white layers is embossed in something that matches the image on the front.

$10.00 for this set.

Finally, back by popular demand, I am offering the little notebooks again.  I got 8 elegant black, white, and red note pads.  We'll decorate the front with a little dress, and this will make a great little gift for a co-worker or a stocking.

You will want several of these.  Trust me!

These little notebooks will be $5.00 each.

I will offer this class twice.  One will be on November 15th at 5:00.  The second time I have to offer is November 22nd at 5:00.  When you RSVP for the class, you need to let me know what you would like to make, and how many of that set/product you want.  It's not too early to start holiday planning.

I hope to create with you soon!

Festive Flurry

The Dress Up framelits weren't the only new set of framelits I got.  I also got the Festive Flurry bundle. and this is my first card using the products!  I also got the stack of DSP.  This is one of the sheets in the pack.  Very easy to use and it makes the card gorgeous!  I stared with Smor of ky Slate later.  Next is layer of Bermuda Bay, then the DSP.  Then I have the 2nd biggest snowflake, stamped in Bermuda Bay.  Then there's a glitter snowflake, and then Island Indigo stamped on Pool Party and sprayed with the smooch spray.  There's a rhinestone brad, and each layer is popped up.  The banner is from Four the Holidays, stamped on Whisper White in Bermuda Bay and I curled the sides of the banner a bit.

Really Good Greetings and Dress Up Framelits!

How much am I loving these framelits???

You can tell by the number of projects I made this weekend using the framelits!

I had these big pink cards from one of those cheap set of cards and envelopes.

I added a layer of Crumb Cake, and then used my other nestibles to cut out a Chocolate Chip scalloped frame, an oval white layer, and a white dress stand.  The dress stand might be a different brown to make it stand out a bit more.

Then on each card I added a different dress and embellishment.  Each card has the same sentiment on the outside and inside it reads "Happy Birthday."
Here's a pretty pink, floral dress with a pink ribbon belt and a pink flower.
And a pretty brown patterned dress with a pink ribbon belt and a white flower with a pink center.
Here's a floral pink dress with a white and pink polka dotted petty coat and diamond button number.
Inside each is the birthday message and a pocket to add a gift card!  What a great way to give a gift!!!

If you'd like a card or even a few, email me or send me a message.  I am happy to help fill your gift card giving needs.  Lots of color and patter styles available.

I'll be taking these to Feja's in Gaithersburg!

Dress Up Framelits and I'm so Styling!

So, I got a shipment from Stampin' Up on Monday.  I really don't have very much time during the week to play, but I had some time this weekend, and, boy, did I play with my new framelits, Dress Up!

I created these sweet and stylish dress frames!

How cute would these be hanging up?  Maybe a few in the bathroom?  A dressing room?  Your office?  Really, the possibilities are endless!  They'd even make a great gift!

This one is that basic, little black dress with a gray patterned DSP background.  The necklace is little black pearls.

I love this one with grays and diamonds!  Oh-la-la!
This one is a little brighter.  This would be super cute in a little girl's room.  I could even customize the colors that would work best for your needs.

If you see something you like, email me or message me.  I can ship using the most cost effective way.  The cost varies depending on the frame used.  You could really fancy this up with a nice frame, which would be more expensive, or you could make the price a little lower by using a more economical choice for the frame.  The $10.00 for the artwork, plus the cost of the frame of your choice.  Frames range in price from $1.00 (the glass frame with clips) to less expensive plastic black frames $5.00, to fancier frames ($10-20).  I'll work with your budget and guarantee your happiness in the finished product.

Tags 4 You and The Friday Mashup

I made these little cuties for some friends at work for Halloween!  How cute are these?  Each one has 6 Snickers bites.  For those counting calories, that is 150 calories per bag.  One bag of them had enough bites in there to make these 7 bags.  There was one left over, which my husband quickly ate.  That means I couldn't eat it.  Thanks for taking one for the team, babe!

I think this could fit in The Friday Mashup's weekly challenge.  One part of their challenge this weekend was to use orange in a card or project.  I didn't include leaves, but these are orange for sure!  And it's something different than the card... I am branching out!  And they're super cute.

I used some tiny bags that I had and put the chocolate in.  Then I used a piece of 2" by 8 1/2" black strip and scored it at 4 1/4.  I folded it in half around the top of the chocolate bag and stapled it closed (2 staples as close to the middle of the paper/bag.  Then I cut the v in the black paper to make the banner.  I stamped the image from Tags 4 You.  I stamped it in black ink on Pumpkin Pie.  Then I punched it out.  Next I punched out 4 of the black corners and 4 of the Pumpkin Pie.  Then I started layering them.  First the black, then the orange.  Finally, I popped it up on the middle of the black banner.

Love them!

'Tis the Season, Challenge 2, Keepsake Ornaments

Here is my answer to this week's challenge on the always awesome 'Tis The Season Christmas card challenge blog.

This was quite the challenge!  We were to use the colors Pear Pizzazz, Melon Mambo, and Tempting Turquoise!  On a Christmas card?  I was stumped for a bit.  However... I think I hit the ball out of the park!
I used one of the ornaments from the Keepsake Ornaments, I colored it using my markers, stamped three different "trees," cut those out using my framelits, and popped those up.  I added a pear star on the top of each tree, with a wee little rhinestone.  I placed them on a white layer, I popped that up on a pear DSP, and I put that on a white layer.  It all was placed on a pear base.

Then I added the sentiment from Petite Pairs to the bottom in melon and added a wee little turquoise rhinestone.

Too Kind+Various Sentiments+Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge= So Happy!

I love it when the challenges I like to do meet my card giving needs.

I have a baby baptism and a friend who just underwent surgery.  These cards are for those folks!

They were created using Too Kind, an awesome set.  I also used the Trust God and the Delightful Dozen sets.  I used the color challenge over on Pals Paper Arts this week to inspire the color on the cards.
This card may look familiar because I have made a few other cards using this technique: stamping on a page from an old dictionary.

Seriously, I love this card and I love how versatile it is.  You can make a gorgeous card using almost any color!

Wonderful Wreath and The Friday Mashup

It is very hard for me to type this right now because I am so busy patting myself on the back.  :)  Seriously, I am in LOVE with this card.  I created this for this week's challenge over on The Friday Mashup.  They gave us a sketch challenge that we could have made spooky, but I just wasn't feeling the spookiness.  So I used the sketch, but I think that last week's fussy cutting part of the challenge was on my mind.

This started off with a Crumb Cake base, then a layer of Soft Suede.  I topped that with DSP from Season of Style.  My banners are Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler.  Then I stamped the Wonderful Wreath in Old Olive on white paper.  Then I did some very fussy cutting (twice... I made two cards).  But it was totally worth it because I am in love!.  I popped it up on the card and added some Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details.

Last I added the sentiment on a strip of white stamped in Cherry Cobbler, threaded it in the wreath and curled up the end a bit.

Freshly Made Sketches Christmas Card Set Using Scentsational Stamp Set

When I saw this week's sketch challenge on Freshly Made Sketches, inspiration hit me.  I just knew what I wanted to make: this sweet card set using my Scentsational stamp set and framelits.

I started off with Whisper White bases (8 1/2 x 4 1/4).  Then I used a layer that matched the color of the image on the card: Real Red for the candy cane, Chocolate Chip for the gingerbread man, Gumball Green for the tree, and Midnight Muse for the coffee cup.
On the inside, I stamped sentiments in the same colors as the layer on the outside of the card.  I tried to pick sentiments that "matched" the image.

On each card, I added some sparkle!  Do you see it?  The pictures don't do it justice, but the gingerbread man and the candy cane have the clear sparkles, the tree has the red sparkles, and the coffee has crystal effects where the coffee would be and a big bling brad right in the middle of the cup.
I also used embossing folders to "match" each of the cards.

I may be offering this set of cards a class at some point.  It's so cute!  I love it!

Perfect Blend and The Friday Mashup

These cards were created as an answer to this week's challenge on The Friday Mashup.

The ladies over on TFM gave us the challenge to create a spooky card (I hope this doesn't look spooky... I did not go for that part of the challenge) or to create a card using the sketch (shown below), or mash-it-up and do both.

I used the sketch and created another card for my Perfect Blend class!
I started with a base of Very Vanilla.  Next there's a layer of Soft Suede.  Next I used this DSP (it is retired and I don't have the name... but it's so sweet for this coffee cup!)

As I often do, I made two cards, slightly changing parts.  On this one, I only changed the big Crumb Cake circle.  I embossed one with the little polka dots and one with the swirls (it reminded me of the steam coming off a fresh cup of coffee).
I used DSP for the coffee cup, a vanilla top, and Crumb Cake for the band around the coffee.  I stamped everything in Early Espresso.  I also stamped the sentiment in espresso, "coffee & friends are the perfect blend."

Perfect Blend, the Dynamic Duo, and The Friday Mashup

I had an uber-busy weekend.  I had several obligations, and I wanted to do them, but I also wanted to create some cards and had very little time to do that.

Add to that a very stressful couple of weeks at work and you have a recipe for a day off work.  And that is what happened for me today.  I took the day off and created this card for the Dynamic Duo weekly color challenge (Cajun Craze and Island Indigo) and The Friday Mashup weekly challenge (to create a project using ripped paper, or create a project with fussy cutting, or mash it up and do both).

DD gave me my color palette, and I decided to use Perfect Blend because it would give me my fussy cutting, but also because I am trying to put together a class that has 4 or more cards using Perfect Blend.  Now I have two cards so we'll see what comes next.
I stamped the coffee cup on Natural White in Early Espresso.  I used my blender pen and smeared the lines a bit.  I added a indigo DSP for the band around the coffee.  Then I stamped the lid of the coffee on Whisper White and popped that up.

That sweet cup o' joe is on an embossed strip of cajun.  I ripped both the top and the bottom of that layer.  Under that, I added a ripped and pierced strip of indigo.

In the bottom left of my white base, I added the sentiment in indigo.
Here's a close up of the cup.

Another Scrap Book Challenge-Clean and Simple Style

Here's another challenge I've completed this weekend.  In case you missed my prior post, my goal is to complete a scrap book on my 2006 awesome trip to Korea and China.

This is my answer to the sketch challenge over one Clean and Simple.  I, of course, took some liberties.  I used the circle image on my cool Asian paper.  It sure is simple.  And, yes, it is clean.  Perfect.
Here's a closer shot of the center of the page.
My goal is to make a two page spread for each challenge (again, to work on completing the book).  I certainly can't make the same thing on both pages, so here's my facing page.  I kept the circle theme going on this page and used the really cool corners on the black page that came from the same page of fancy paper as the big round dragon medallion on the prior page.

I'm Blowing my Own Mind!

It struck me early this weekend that I really enjoy doing challenges and making cards.  Then it came to me: I can start making scrap book pages using challenges, too!  Brilliant, huh? Took me this long to figure this out!

Anyway, several years ago (fine! I can't handle the badgering!  It was 2006!) I went to Korea to visit my best buddy, and she and I went to China.  All along, I have been planning to make a mega scrap book of the trip.  And when is say planning, I mean buying cool things for the book: cool paper, stickers, cut outs, etc.

This week, I made a page using the challenge over on Just Add Ink.  Ta-Da!

I did make a smash-book style scrap book for another mega trip to visit another great friend, and I made it in a very short time. I loved the freedom of not planning out every single detail just getting it done.  This challenge helped me to do that.  I just started the book.

Here's a close up!

The other cool thing about these challenges and my new discovery of creating scrapbook pages is that I plan on making a two page spread for each one (I mean, that's what I do for my scrap books.)  I haven't finished pouring through my pictures yet, but as you see, this spread is about my street sightings in Korea so I need a few more pictures from the street.
I didn't quite finish the second page of the spread.  You can see the (almost) finished page here.  It is a page of pictures, and I love the connection to the previous page with the use of the same pattered paper.  On this page, since it is a simpler set up, has the cool dragon in it.  That strip actually runs along the bottom (I am not sure why my computer didn't turn the picture the right way the way it always does.  I cannot figure out how to turn it, either, so I have to just let you know that you have to turn your head to the right to see it the way it really is).  As you can see, I have room for two more street sightings or I can add one bigger longer picture.  We'll see what I find!  :)

A new Challenge Blog: 'Tis the Season... Challenge #1

How excited am I about the new blog, 'Tis the Season?

SUPER excited is the answer to that question!

Here are the cards I created for their first sketch.
I am IN LOVE with Season of Style, one of Stampin' Ups seasonal DSPs.  I just adore all of the paper patterns in the set.

I used For the Holidays, Rough Type, and Word Play sets.

Paper colors: Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake

Ink colors: Stazon White, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler
I also used two different types of white ribbon, one on each card (I always make two cards when I create; I make little changes just to see which one I like better.)  I can't figure out which one I like better.

You can see the sketch below.  Why don't you head over to the brand new blog  and check out what the talented ladies featured there have to offer?  Heck, why don't you give it a shot?  Grab some holiday stamps and see what you can come up with!
