I had an uber-busy weekend. I had several obligations, and I wanted to do them, but I also wanted to create some cards and had very little time to do that.
Add to that a very stressful couple of weeks at work and you have a recipe for a day off work. And that is what happened for me today. I took the day off and created this card for the Dynamic Duo weekly color challenge (Cajun Craze and Island Indigo) and The Friday Mashup weekly challenge (to create a project using ripped paper, or create a project with fussy cutting, or mash it up and do both).
DD gave me my color palette, and I decided to use Perfect Blend because it would give me my fussy cutting, but also because I am trying to put together a class that has 4 or more cards using Perfect Blend. Now I have two cards so we'll see what comes next.
I stamped the coffee cup on Natural White in Early Espresso. I used my blender pen and smeared the lines a bit. I added a indigo DSP for the band around the coffee. Then I stamped the lid of the coffee on Whisper White and popped that up.
That sweet cup o' joe is on an embossed strip of cajun. I ripped both the top and the bottom of that layer. Under that, I added a ripped and pierced strip of indigo.
In the bottom left of my white base, I added the sentiment in indigo.
Here's a close up of the cup.
Thanks for looking!

Very cute, Lisa. The ripped background matches the sketchy image very well. Thanks for joining the Friday Mashup this week.
Beautiful card, Lisa. I love the ripped background and the textures. Thanks for playing along with us at the Friday Mashup this week!
