Telescoping Circles

Hello, Mashup!

I created this card for this week's challenge on The Friday Mashup.

I have been wanting to make one of these telescoping cards for awhile now, and this challenge allowed me to do that. I also got this new set of Spellbinders so that lent itself to a wedding card (not that I have a wedding in the near future). But it works for the circular part of the mashup, and does the fact that weddings are known for the kisses allow for the kissing part of the mashup?

Probably not, but that's okay... so I didn't mash it up this week, but I was pretty happy with the way it turned out.

I don't know if you can see it, but on the center circle, there are embossed hearts.

Colors: Blushing Bride, Natural White
Stamps: Word Play
Others: Spellbinders, silver brads, Blushing Bride pleated ribbon, rhinestone

Fresh Sketch!

This is my first time playing along with the folks over on Freshly Made Sketches, but I know it will not be my last! I love a good sketch challenge. Here are two very similar takes on this week's sketch challenge.

I started with a base of Basic Black. There's a layer of Pink Pirouette, and the next layer is Rose Red. On top of that, I used Natural White.

I used Fabulous Florets and colored it in with my blender pen. I also used Teeny Tiny Wishes.

On this second card, I changed the orientation and also added ribbon.

Oh! And the main floral image on both cards is cut out and popped up.

A Vintage Mashup

Here's another stab at this week's Mashup over on The Friday Mashup blog.

I'm sure you can see the similarities to the first one, but it is a sketch challenge so there's going to be some.

In this card, I used my free Kindness Matters stamp set and my oval frame. I also used a q-tip to color in the butterflies.

The frame is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals and so are the embossed butterflies.

I'm Not Old, I'm vintage

This card was created for this week's Friday Mashup challenge. I need a baby card for a friend and I guess I had that in mind when I came up with this card.

I followed the sketch challenge and did my best to make it a bit shabby/vintage. I rounded the corners, and then I roughed up and ripped the edges of the center sentiment. I used the leaves coming out of the photo corners to add a bit more dimension, and I like the way they sort of blend into the tree. I put that on a layer off stamped Certainly Celery.

Here's another one for the boys...

HEY! I hope this finds you all knee deep in creativity right now. I know I am!

I just love the ladies over on The Friday Mashup! They inspire me and challenge me, and I just read that they had a birthday! Happy, happy birthday!

I am entering this card in to their Fan Favorite Challenge. I one idea I had was to make your own DSP, but then I saw that someone with a really cute card did that and I wanted to have a completely unique card so I came up with this mashup idea (but please note, most of these have make your own DSP):
1. Create a personalized note card set.

2. Create a project using only 3 colors (not including your neutral)

3. Or MASH IT UP and create a personalized note card set that uses only 3 colors.

Can I tell you why my idea should win? Make a plug for myself?

I LOVE to make gifts for people. It makes me feel so happy to be able to give people something I made for them.

One of the gifts so many have received and loved is personalized note cards.

I know they use them and love them.

I thought this way would be a cool way to get lots of really good ideas for sets to make for people.

What do you say? Vote for this idea and get tons of really cool ideas for your own personalized note cards?

(Note the wood grain stamp on the brown of this card... attention to detail... and the "screw" brad there on the V?)

(Also, notice the sweet DIY DSP)

And the last one of my 4 card set....

My Mashup Fan Favorite idea #1

I was so excited to see this new Fan Favorite challenge again! I have lots of ideas!!!! My Mashup challenge would be to:

1. Create a card with your favorite sweet treat.

2. Create a project using both dry or heat embossing (or both)

3. Or Mash It up and create a card with your favorite sweet treat that uses dry or heat embossing (or both).

I made two very slightly different cards using the same layout. I changed the position of the ribbon on each. The glimmer brad on each is also a different color.

I used the dot embossing folder on the cherry DSP, and on the ice cream cone, I used the new cherry embossing powder! Ummm... cherry!

The base is Crumb Cake and so is the ink on the cone. I used a retired (but cute) DSP. My ribbon is the pleated new Blushing Bride ribbon, so I used that color on my happy birthday circle.

Who doesn't like sweet treats and embossing?

Another Royalty 411 Stampin' Challenge Met!

This is the second card I came up with to go along with both Stamping 411 sketch challenge and Stampin' Royalty's picture inspiration challenge. I love it when that happens!

I used the colors from the picture inspiration: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo. Once again, I used a tiny pop of green with a single green brad. I also used an embossing folder and bunches of punches. The circular "flower" in the center of the main punch is also punched out with a 3/4" circle and popped up using stamping dimensionals.

Cute!

It's a Royal Stamping 411

This is one of two cards I made for two challenges this week. This sketch is from Stamping 411. Stampin' Royalty's picture challenge was my other inspiration.

Paper colors: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette.

I also used just a pop of green in one green brad and a white flower button. In addition, I embossed the top layer of pirouette.

Hostess Set Stamping 411 Challenge

This is what I came up with for this week's sketch challenge over on Stamping 411. I made two slightly different cards.

I am happy with the color combo, the embossing, the sweet new hostess set I opened for the first time today. I love this image.

I started with a base of So Saffron. I use Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso, and Whisper White. I used the small oval and medium oval punches. I also used Tangerine Tango grosgrain ribbon. I have also used several random embossing folders.

Here are some close ups of each card... I can never make them the same!

February Sale-A-Bration Outline Set Class

Hello everybody!

I have been having lots of fun with one of my new Sale-A-Bration (SAB) outlines stamp set! In fact, I am having so much fun designing cards for this set that I created a class for it!

I've designed 6 cards, 2 each using the three main stamps in the set: Thanks, Love, and Celebration. Have a look, see what you think, and make room in your schedule for this class!

The "Thanks... so very much" cards are a perfect way to give your thanks to someone.

The "Love" cards are just right for both weddings or anniversaries.

The "Celebrate... It's Your Day" cards will make someone very happy on his or her special day.

One thing I really love about these cards is that I used one set to make several different kind of cards... a set that I got for free! I bought $50.00 worth of Stampin' Up product and got the set for free.

Also, 3 of the 6 cards are made using the SAB designer series paper. Again, that could be yours free when you buy $50.00 of product! I don't know about you, but I LOVE free!

We'll be making 6 cards for $20.00 on either Friday, February Friday 17th at 5:00 p.m. OR Saturday, February 18th at 10:00 a.m. If there is another time that works better for you on Saturday, let me know. If I can, I will accommodate your schedule.

Please RSVP by February 15th if you'd like to create 6 unique and beautiful cards. I hope to see you and create with you soon!
