Butterflies and Flowers

These two cards were designed to meet the requirements of both the Dynamic Duo and The Friday Mashup blog challenges.  This week's color challenge on the Dynamic Duo was to use Poppy Parade and Basic Black.  A dessert challenge was also offered: punches.  For the Friday Mashup, you were to use this sketch, or create a summer themed card, or mash-it-up and do both.  I think both the butterfly and the flower count in the summer theme, don't you?

There is a base of Poppy Parade in both, then there was a layer of Poppy Parade DSP.  In this butterfly card, I used the Papillon Potpourri set.
I also used the Wacky Wishes set.  It's hard to tell from the picture, but the butterfly is punched out.  Actually, there are two.  One punched out in poppy on the base and one with the butterfly image stamped in black on poppy and punched out and popped up!

Inside it a birthday message.

Too cute...
I wasn't as crazy about this one, but I did use the blossom petals builder and the large scalloped circle, both punches.  It follows the sketch, it uses the colors, and I am always messing up and needing to apologize for something, so I will totally use it!

Thanks for looking!

Both cards are beautifully made. They reminded me about the pad of 6x6 I've hardly used. Thanks for playing along at Dynamic Duos.
