Please let me introduce you to the first class that I am offering in 2014... All Dressed Up! This class features Stampin' Up's Dress Up framelits.
For this class, you'll make 12 sweet dress cards. Each card starts with an embossed neutral background and is topped with a black dress form and a dress. There are two different styles of dress.
Each paper is gorgeous and is flocked (which basically means it's textured with a fuzzy, soft patterned area). Also, since the paper is patterned, each dress is totally unique and will have a different pattern. Some dresses also have a ribbon belt.
I am in love with these dresses! I know you will be, too! They make awesome note cards for yourself or for a gift.
Here's a close-up of one of the dresses. You can also see the detail of the embossing on the bottom neutral layer... simple and sweet.
I am offering the class on Friday, January 17th at 4:00. The set $25.00 for a 12 card set.
Can't make it on the 17th but still want to make the set? Let me know and I'll prep the materials for the set for you, and we can arrange a time to create together.
Love the set but don't have interest in making it yourself? Again, let me know, and I will make the cards for you!
Please RSVP by Wednesday January 15th if you are coming so that I can have all the materials ready for you.
I hope to create with you soon!

Yippee-Skippee! and The Friday Mashup
I made two, almost identical, cards for The Friday Mashup challenge this week.
Their challenge was to use Real Red, Gumball Green, Bermuda Bay, and Crumb Cake or to make a project with glitter/shimmer/bling or mash-it-up and make both. Since Christmas is over, I decided to go the the next major card giving holiday: Valentine's Day.
Here's what I created...
I used the Yippee-Skippee stamp set (I've been trying to find a way to use this sentiment... I freakin' love it!) I used the small heart punch to punch out 8 hearts of the green and blue and one of the glitter red. I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay and then colored in "love" with my red marker. I popped up the red glitter heart and panel of hearts, too.
I used the Chalk Talk framelits to create a panel for the sentiment. It was a bit longer than I needed it to be, so I used the side of the decorative label to punch out the other side to mimic the fancy punch that the framelit creates. My scrap was 1 1/2", which perfectly fits in the side of the punch.

Sketched Birthday for FOUR Challenges!
I think I am probably like most people... super busy during the holidays. I put the things I want to do on the back burner to complete the tasks I HAVE to do. Well... I am on vacation, and I am spending some time playing in the studio, and I have finally broken my own record. I have created this card, which answers the call of FOUR... count 'em... four challenges (and this beats my prior record of one card and three challenges). Thanks to the folks at the following four blogs that created such great challenges this week that allowed me to do this.
This card uses the sketch challenge on Freshly Made Sketches. I have used the color challenge on Sunday Stamps (Crumb Cake, Basic Black, and So Saffron). And the theme of the card goes with the challenge on CAS-ual Fridays (New Year's Project) and CASology's party theme for the week.
My base is Very Vanilla. Then I used a 4" x 5.25" layer of vanilla which I heat embossed using clear embossing powder and two stamps from the Sketched Birthday stamp set. My banners are Crumb Cake, black, and So Saffron. My sentiment is also froom Sketched Birthdays, stamped in black on saffron and cut out using the Bitty Banners framelits.
I usually do make two cards when I make any card, changing the layout slightly. That's what I did here, too. The banners were super easy to make using scraps.
Inside each is the Happy New Year message from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I punched it out using my word window and added the sentiment to the Modern Label punch.

'Tis the Season Challenge 6!
Holy Cow! Where is the time going?!? Thanksgiving, my birthday, the impending Christmas holiday, the parties, the planning, the buying, the wrapping....
But, I had to make time for the 'Tis the Season Christmas card challenge number 6! It's a color challenge to use Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and Midnight Muse with an option to use embossing.
These non-traditional Christmas colors are quite the challenge, but I went into Zen Mode and channeled my inner creative juices.
I am actually quite happy with the outcome. I started off with a Crumb Cake base. Inside, there's a white layer. On the front of the card, I used two different framelits: Window Frames and Chalk Talk, one to cut out a Midnight Muse and one to cut an opening in both the window frame and the front of the card. I used Warmth & Wonder stamp set.
The tree is Old Olive, the ornaments, ribbon, and sentiments are Rich Razzleberry, the window frame is Midnight Muse.
I do like it! Thanks for looking!

'Tis the Season Challenge #5
Here's what I came up with for the fifth challenge on 'Tis is the Season. This week, we have a sketch challenge and since stars were optional, I did not use them. I tried to, but they just weren't grooving with my initial vision, so I booted that idea to the curb.
My initial idea/vision was basically the card you see here (please forgive me for the dark photo. I really am having photography issues these days). I saw that circle image in the sketch as a snowflake. I saw the upper right corner being in one of the awesome sheets from my Winter Frost pack. My other colors are Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, and Coastal Cabana as a card base. The snowflake is in Bermuda Bay.
Head on over to 'Tis the Season this week and play along!

Mosaic Madness and The Dynamic Duo
The folks over on Dynamic Duo blew our minds this week by offering a THREE color challenge! Blushing Bride, Raspberry Ripple, and Pear Pizzazz.
For this card evolution, I chose Whisper White for my neutral and base.
For this one, I used a 4" x 5.25" white panel. I stamped two rows in raspberry and added "thinking of you" from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. I popped up multi-colored mosaic pieces between the rows. I then popped that panel on the white base.
For the second card, I still have the popped mosaic pieces on a strip of white on top a strip of raspberry on top of a strip of pear on top of bride. I added a pear ribbon and the sentiment in raspberry. All of that is also on a 4" x 5.25" white panel.
I love the color combinations on this card! So happy with how this turned out!

Dynamic Duo Triple Threat
This week the Dynamic Duos did something unheard of! They gave us three colors to use... what kind of craziness is this?!?
They gave us the challenge colors of Blushing Bride, Raspberry Ripple, and Pear Pizzazz. I added Whisper White in the mix.
Here's my first card, and I used Summer Silouettes.
On this card, I used Too Kind (my favorite new set) and Loving Thoughts.

For the Birds Friday Mashup
This week, The Friday Mashup has a challenge to use Crumb Cake, or use gingham, or mash-it-up and do both... and that is just what I did... twice!
There is something about red gingham that just makes me love and it makes me smile! Pair that with Crumb Cake and I've go "perma-grin."
I have kept this card CAS. I used the ice-skating bird from For the Birds. I used my marker to ink the bird in black, but the sentiment in red. Then I used my same marker to color in the bird. The scarf and hat are stripped red and Crumb Cake.
I played around with the ribbon on this one. I like the thickness of the red ribbon. But that's not gingham. I wanted to add some gingham ties, but it just wasn't working out. Instead, I just added a gingham bow. I am much happier with the gingham ribbon. You can't argue, it is CAS. But I do love it!

Crosses of Hope and The Friday Mashup
This week, the ladies over on The Friday Mashup have a great challenge this week. To use Crumb Cake or to use gingham or mash-it-up and do both. I'll be taking the mash!
I have a card ministry, so I am always in need of great cards to send to my church folks. This challenges screamed "Caring Cards" to me.
I used a Crumb Cake base, then a layer of Chocolate Chip, then a layer of Whisper white. I made two cards, and embossed each one with a different embossing folder. Finally, I added a delicious brown and white gingham ribbon.
Finally, I inked up my Crosses of Hope large cross in Chocolate Chip and stamped on white. Then I cut out the cross and popped it up.
I think this will be a fine card for my ministry mission!

Fab Friday and Sunday Stamps!
How fun is that? Friday, meet Sunday.
I think this card has a cool backstory. In fact, it would not have been made if it were not for this story. I am a member of the design team over on 'Tis the Season (you should check it out!), and one of the team needed someone to step in and be a guest designer, which I just couldn't refuse! What an honor!
This one was a color challenge on Sunday Stamps: Lime, Gray, Turquoise. Thanks for the head scratch-er, Holly!
I looked to Fab Friday for a little inspiration on this one. They have a great sketch challenge this week. Thanks, Fab Folks!
I really don't know what's up with my photo taking abilities. This is the same card with different lighting/flash options. I really just want a good camera! Come on! Is that too much to ask?!?
Here's a slightly different take on the card.
Sorry for the delay in posting... life has been a bit busy and not about to slow down any time soon. I think I'm on crazy mode until after Christmas!

'Tis the Season and The More the Merrier
This is my answer to the 'Tis the Season color challenge this week!
We had to use the colors Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler, and Baked Brown Sugar.
I saw a card this week that inspired this card. There were lots of differences, but I loved the basic sketch.
I used the snow men from the The More the Merrier set. The sentiment is from Merry Winter.
I put white dots on my Baked Brown Sugar with a sponge dauber and white stazon ink. I added a button and laced it with linen thread (that's kind of like twine...). I stamped my sentiment on Whisper White in Cherry Cobbler.
I also sponged the edges of the image on the front.
All in all, I love it! I'd also love to see what you can do with this challenge. Why don't you hop on over to 'Tis the Season and play along this week?

Dress Up Framelits- Cards Galore!
I have to admit that I might have a problem. I can't stop using the Dress Up framelits.
Recently, I just went through some of my old, unused materials. I have a drawer full of cards, bought at a discount at some point. I went through my stacks upon stacks of patterned paper. I matched card bases with matching patterned paper for the top layer.
Then I went to work matching paper for dresses and belts and jewelry, oh my!
I only had enough of this paper to make three cards, but they match the bases really well.
I used different colors of paper under the patterned paper.
Here are some closer shots of the dresses...
Love!
Do you see the lace peeking out from the bottom of the dress? So stinkin' cute!
Stay tuned for more of these... I have lots more paper already matched up!

Wising You from 'Tis the Season Challenge Blog
I LOVE this week's sketch! I loved it immediately, but as soon as I sat down to create it, I was stumped by that small ornament in the corner. At first I thought "snowflake," but I had this great red and white stripped paper that I wanted to use. I also had the new set Wishing You that I wanted to get some ink on!
I love how this turned out! I started with a white base. Then I added a layer of Cherry Cobbler, then the DSP layer. I stamped the sentiment on a white scrap in cherry and turned it into a banner. Then I used my markers to ink up the present stack. I alternated between Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler. I cut that out and popped it up.
Inside I stamped the rest of the sentiment from the set: "and a New Year filled with peace, love & joy.
Happy, happy, happy. Thanks for looking!

Sweet Santa Dresses Using Dress Up Framelits
How sweet is this Ms. Clause frame?
I just got my new framelits, Dress Up, and I am totally in love with this tool! I have been making all kinds of dress cards and frames, but I had the idea to do three different dresses. A girl's gotta have options.
Ms. Clause get's three options, all of them fancy in it's own way.
Here are some close ups of the dresses.
Do you notice the pearl necklace?
How about the big red stone on this one?
It's a great gift for the woman who has everything and likes to decorate for the holidays. The cost is $25.00. Email me or message me your order!

Family Frame for Thanksgiving
One of my holiday decorations this year is going to be this lovely Family frame. I think it ties right into the colors of Thanksgiving and fall. The burlap frame just screams fall, too!
If you would like one of these frames, send me an email or message me. I'd be happy to help you. $20.00. The colors are also customizable for your decor. It would make a great hostess gift for Thanksgiving. It would also be a great gift for someone this upcoming holiday season!
Let me know if I can help you.

Crazy for Cupcakes and The Friday Mashup
This week on the Friday Mashup the ladies gave us a color challenge of using Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate, and Basic Gray. Or we could make a card with cake. Or we could mash-it-up and make card in those colors and a cake.
This is what I came up with. I saw a card with the window in the front. I really liked that style. I made one other card with a larger opening, but this time I used a smaller opening to match better with the size of the stamp. I also cut out a cabana colored frame around the opening.
Across the front I have a curry strip with the message "Happy Birthday" across the front in the cabana color.
Inside, I added a white panel with the stand of cupcakes in the center. I colored the cupcakes in cabana and curry cherries (I figured they're the Mt. Rainier cherries!) The bases are colored in Crumb Cake.
Here's a view of the inside.
I think it's quite charming.

Too Kind Dynamic Duos!
This week I used the challenge over on Dynamic Duos to create this card. Their challenge this week was to use the colors Wisteria Wonder and Perfect Plum. Yes, I think I will!
I created this card, which I got from one of the wonderful blogs I follow. The creator of the card created an opening in the front of the card with the framelits and then had a piece crossing the front of the card and opening. I loved the idea so I used it to do the same thing on this card.
I started with a piece of Smoky Slate. I used the framelit to create a window in the front of the card. I lined the inside of the card with a piece of Whisper White. I used my Too Kind set, which I love, to create these beautiful two toned flowers.
Across the front of the opening, I added the sentiment, "Sending Good Thoughts your way." I stamped that in Perfect Plum. Added it to piece of slate, and added a plum ribbon.
I am quite pleased with it!

Your Choice Class
I know it has been forever since I've offered a class. I really wasn't sure of a direction I wanted to head. So I am offering it all to you!
I have the coffee set of cards listed above. The bottom two cards are basically the same, and inside the card is a pocket for a gift card! So fun. I love this little set. $10.00 for this one.
Then I have a sweet little 4 card set of Christmas cards. Inside is a matching sentiment. So fun and simple and sweet! I love it!
Here are the other two. Each of these cards has a little something extra on the front. Most of it takes about an hour to dry (we'll do this set first). If you want more, you can make multiple sets. You can't really see it in the pictures, but each of the top white layers is embossed in something that matches the image on the front.
$10.00 for this set.
Finally, back by popular demand, I am offering the little notebooks again. I got 8 elegant black, white, and red note pads. We'll decorate the front with a little dress, and this will make a great little gift for a co-worker or a stocking.
You will want several of these. Trust me!
These little notebooks will be $5.00 each.
I will offer this class twice. One will be on November 15th at 5:00. The second time I have to offer is November 22nd at 5:00. When you RSVP for the class, you need to let me know what you would like to make, and how many of that set/product you want. It's not too early to start holiday planning.
I hope to create with you soon!

Festive Flurry
The Dress Up framelits weren't the only new set of framelits I got. I also got the Festive Flurry bundle. and this is my first card using the products! I also got the stack of DSP. This is one of the sheets in the pack. Very easy to use and it makes the card gorgeous! I stared with Smor of ky Slate later. Next is layer of Bermuda Bay, then the DSP. Then I have the 2nd biggest snowflake, stamped in Bermuda Bay. Then there's a glitter snowflake, and then Island Indigo stamped on Pool Party and sprayed with the smooch spray. There's a rhinestone brad, and each layer is popped up. The banner is from Four the Holidays, stamped on Whisper White in Bermuda Bay and I curled the sides of the banner a bit.
Really Good Greetings and Dress Up Framelits!
How much am I loving these framelits???
You can tell by the number of projects I made this weekend using the framelits!
I had these big pink cards from one of those cheap set of cards and envelopes.
I added a layer of Crumb Cake, and then used my other nestibles to cut out a Chocolate Chip scalloped frame, an oval white layer, and a white dress stand. The dress stand might be a different brown to make it stand out a bit more.
Then on each card I added a different dress and embellishment. Each card has the same sentiment on the outside and inside it reads "Happy Birthday."
Here's a pretty pink, floral dress with a pink ribbon belt and a pink flower.
And a pretty brown patterned dress with a pink ribbon belt and a white flower with a pink center.
Here's a floral pink dress with a white and pink polka dotted petty coat and diamond button number.
Inside each is the birthday message and a pocket to add a gift card! What a great way to give a gift!!!
If you'd like a card or even a few, email me or send me a message. I am happy to help fill your gift card giving needs. Lots of color and patter styles available.
I'll be taking these to Feja's in Gaithersburg!
