I finally got the chance to play along with the fine folks over on The Friday Mashup this week. They gave us a monochromatic challenge. The second half of the challenge was to use baker's twine. I could have added that in, I guess, but I am designing a class using the pinwheel and the Wishes Your Way stamp set. I am making 3 cards with 3 pinwheels and 3 cards with 1 pinwheel, and I am using each of the 6 sentiments from the stamp set, one on each card. Since I am keeping each card fairly similar, I chose not to add twine on this one.
The base of this card is pink pirouette. Then there is a white embossed layer (stamped using raspberry ripple before embossing). Then I added three pinwheels in darkening shades of pink; one is Pretty-in-Pink (seriously... can anyone believe that THIS is one of the colors SU is choosing to retire?), Primrose Petals, and Raspberry Ripple. Each one was stamped using the large polka dot background stamp and versa mark. It's subtle but it's there.
It is making a fine addition to my class!
Thanks for looking!

Color Challenge for Dynamic Duos
It has been a ton of time since I've played along with the lovely ladies on Dynamic Duos. This week they have a color challenge of Pacific Point and Basic Black. They also gave a dessert challenge of using a kid theme.
I was working on designing a class using the pinwheel and the Wishes Your Way stamp set. This challenge helped me add a card for my class.
What kid wouldn't love this pinwheel card? It's so cute!
Inside, I added the sentiment, "wishing you a twirly-whirly birthday!"
I popped up the pacific layer, which doesn't really show on this picture, but it's pretty sweet in real life.
Thanks for looking!

May Birthday Class
Do you need birthday cards as much as I do? Then this class is for you! It offers you 8, count 'em, 8 birthday cards!
There are cards for boys, cards for girls, and even a gift card holder card!
The one with the doily is a card set I got from Stampin' Up. They designed the card, cut all the materials and sent them to me. How awesome is that? Plus, I really do love it!
These two are definitely manly cards. The one with the fish uses one of my favorite new sets, By the Tide (you can expect a future class that exclusively uses this set!) Inside, the sentiment of the fish card reads, "That makes you one in a million!" I just love that sentiment!
The bow ties are just perfect, too. And, very trendy if I do say so myself.
I won't walk you through these card by card. I'll just tell you that you really don't want to miss this class.
You'll be walking away with 8 beautiful birthday cards for your summer birthdays.
I am offering the class on Friday, May 31st at 4:00 pm or Saturday, June 1st at noon.
The cost is $20.00.
Please RSVP by May 29th.
(I am not sure why the program didn't orient this card in the right way, but you can still see that these cards are cute!)
The smaller of the two is the gift card holder birthday card. You can see the inside of the card below... can you find my mistake? I promise, I won't let you do that to your card!
I hope to create with you soon!
