Mashup Challenge #34

Whoa is me! This is my last week as a guest designer over on the Friday Mashup (http://www.fridaymashup.com/2011/11/fm34-sugar-and-spice-make-christmas.html). I have had a lot of fun trying my hand at this challenge thing! It was cool to have a mashup challenge early and see what I could do with it before I ever saw what someone else did with it. I rather enjoyed myself! Hey, Mike-y, she likes it. So, alas, here's my final challenge as November 2011 (I just accidentally typed 2012... an omen?)
The challenge was to make a Christmas theme card or make a card using an aqua, Soft Suede, and Whisper White OR Mash it Up and create a Christmas themed card using those colors. I decided right away to mash it up, and the colors told me they wanted to use my Dasher Stamp, one that had no ink on it for while. I also wanted to case a card from the cattie (from page 45). I really liked that punch behind the four corners. Here is how mine came out. I also added some more layers and instead of pearls, I used a little aqua colored bling. I put three in his antler swirl and one bigger one in each corner. Oh! I embossed Dancer... that's important to know, and as you can see, I added another layer in . I sprayed my Smooch spray on the aqua base (it is actually Pool Party). Then that whole front piece is popped up using the dimensionals.
To be honest, I didn't love it at first. I actually took it off the front twice. I just really felt like it was missing something. I decided it was missing some ribbon... so I added some. (duh!)
Here's a bit of a close up on it. I hope you like it! Go check out the other cool cards over on this week's challenge on Friday Mashup!

Mashup Challenge... met!

Yikes! I did it again! I was so worried about getting my card in in time that I totally forgot about posting it! DUH! Don't worry! I'll get the hang of this! Here's my creation for this week's challenge over on Friday Mashup (http://www.fridaymashup.com/2011/11/fm33-everything-is-coming-up-rosettes.html ... my linker isn't working again!) The challenge this week was to use a sketch or add a rosette or Mash it Up and use the sketch with a rosette.
I chose to mash it up with my most favorite go to DSP. I stocked up on it before it retired, and I still love it today as much as I did when it first came out. Plus it works really when when I feel stuck, and let me tell you, I did really felt challenged by this one! But, this is what I came up with. Mostly DSP, but I did use a sentiment from the hostess set (I totally forgot the name!), and two pearls. I also used a green button in the center of my rosette! It's really cute!

Thanks for your "Support"!

I know I am late getting this posted.... sorry!!!
I made this card for this week's challenge over on the Friday Mashup! I just love their challenges. Their challenge this week was to make a girly themed card using your favorite technique, but I'm one of those kind of gals that can't really pick a favorite (can't I just love it all?) I thought, "what's more girly than a beautiful floral bra?"
I used the punch art technique with my scallop punch. I also used ribbon (practically every thing I make has ribbon... another favorite). And I added a pretty pearl to the center of the bra; who doesn't love a little bling? I think I will use this as a thank you card for a female friend and add the comment, "Thanks for your support" inside.

I'm so indecisive...

I seriously couldn't make up my mind for this week's challenge on The Friday Mashup. It is a fun challenge, one that I'm sure I'll keep thinking of things to make that fulfill this mashup!

Speaking of the mashup... here are the dets...

1. Make a project featuring "Heat Embossing."
2. Or make a "Thank You (Grateful)" project.
3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Thank you project using Heat Embossing."

I have recently been making some holiday gifts for a craft sale that I am attending. I made a notepad holder with embossed butterflies with oranges and yellows. They came out so good that even my husband was impressed!

So for this challenge, I decided to make the embossed butterflies (using the God's Beauty stamp set-retired). I used black embossing powder and stamped on white paper. Then I used my sponge daubers and inked in the bottom part of the butterfly with Daffodil Delight. Then on the top part of the butterfly, I sponged in some Pacific Point. Then I cut out each butterfly and popped each one of them up using stampin' dimensionals. I also colored in a few dots along the edges of the butterflies using a white gel pen. I put them on a layer of white, used black grosgrain ribbon, and stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point (the sentiment is from Day of Gratitude). All of that is on a base of Pacific Point.

They almost look real, don't they?

Oh... My... Blog!

Here is the breaking news... I have the privilege to be the guest designer this month on The Friday Mashup blog! WHAT??!?! I know! So cool and such an honor!

Here is the challenge:
1. Make a project featuring "Heat Embossing."
2. Or make a "Thank You (Grateful)" project
3. Or "Mash it up" and create a "Thank You project using heat embossing."

My first thought was Thanksgiving. I mean, it's a holiday all about how thankful we are for what we have (really... it's all in the name... Thanks-giving).

And this is the first card I came up with... It starts off with a base of Soft Suede. I have a thin strip of So Saffron that has a ribbon punched piece of Cajun Craze under that, just barely poking out.

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :Make a project featuring "Heat Embossing".Or Make a "Thank You (Grateful)" project. Or "Mash it Up" and create a "Thank You Project using Heat Embossing".So here is the "Mashup" Challenge :Make a project featuring "Heat Embossing".Or Make a "Thank You (Grateful)" project. Then I used some Chocolate Chip ink on my new new stamp, Hand-Penned Holidays. Next I used Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Red Ridinghood scraps. I stamped the leaf from the Day of Gratitude set in the same colored inks. Then I used my versamark ink pad and just inked up the whole leaf and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Next, I cut each one out. The pumpkin one is popped up using stampin' dimensionals and I tied a little bow around the stem of the leaf using the linen thread.
