'Tis the Season, A Color Challenge that is Challenging!

I am pleased to present to you my take on the 45th, extremely challenging color challenge brought to you by 'Tis the Season... where it's Christmas all year long!

This time, we are give the color challenge of Navy, Sand, and Concord.  Since my go to concord would be Stampin' Up's Concord Crush, I went to that color folder (I am a little OCD...) and found mere scraps left of my stash.  Okay... that's cool... it's meant to be used, not hoarded...

These colors stumped me for a bit, I have to admit.  They are not what I like to call, "traditional" Christmas colors.

So I searched for something that didn't scream for those "traditional" colors... stars, baby!

I have been wanting to play more with my star dies and my Many Merry Stars Stamp Set (double alliteration... nice, Stampin' Up).
Here is a product of their union.  I tried to take a side shot to show you both the paper piercing in the big Night of Navy star and the top Sahara Sand star, and the fact that each layer is popped up giving such a cool 3D effect that you I really can't capture in a photo.

I added the sentiment from the set with the same name, added one piece of bling right in the center, and called it a day.

Why don't you head over to 'Tis the Season and play along with us... show us what you've got!

'Tis the Season Sketch Challenge 43

I love this sweet card!

I have created so many cards (in my head) using this sketch.  I think it would work so well for so many cards.  Here I created this sweet little snow guy card and I think it is SOOOOOOOOOOO cute.

This sketch is fast and easy!  Coloring this guy in is what took me the longest.

Why don't you  head over to the 'Tis the Season, check out what the rest of the team came up with, and then play along with us!  Here's the sketch for you...

Thanks for looking... now come play along!

I hope you'll come create with me!

Father's Day Open House!

Since the Mother's Day open house was so successful, I thought I'd try it with Father's Day!

I'll have a bunch of stuff available for you to make a Father's Day card.  Make as many as you need and personalize them for your dad, husband, brother, grandfather, or friends,

Here's a small sampling of Father's Day stamps (I just fell in love with the Da Vinci Dad). I have tons more: tool stamps, punch art wrenches, boats, motorcycles, fish, and more! If your guy loves it, I probably have it.

This type of class is perfect for Mommy and Me.

I am offering this open house twice.

Sunday June 14th from 2-6 or Wednesday June 17th from 10-2.

Each card is only $3.00.

Let me know if you're coming so I make sure I am home for you!

Come join us!  I hope to create with you soon!

'Tis the Season, Color Challenge 42!

Boy was I stumped at this mix of colors originally!  I love the Crumb Cake and grey.  I also love the Cherry Cobbler and Real Red, but I just never use the two reds together...

I must say I am quite pleased with how this turned out.  I inked up the whole wreath stamp in Crumb Cake, and then I individual leaves grey and cobbler.  I stamped it on Very Vanilla.  I created a vanilla ribbon of paper.  I stamped "joy" in cherry, "season of" in grey, and spritzed some red and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  I also added red glitter to the wreath and complimented that with a red layer of glitter paper.  I also threw a layer of gray under the image and popped the whole layer on top of a Crumb Cake base.

Now that you know the colors, why don't you head over to 'Tis the Season, see what the rest of the designers created, and then post your creation.  I can't see what you come up with!

'Tis the Season Inspiration Challenge, #41!

I get my cards done on time, but I can't get my posts up on time... it's always something...

Anyway... here it is... my take on the photo inspiration.  I picked up on the color of the little gingerbread cookies with my base in Soft Suede.  I picked up on the shape of the cookies with my star embossed layer (and what is almost impossible to tell in any picture that I took, I "frosted" each star with dazzling diamonds.  It is precious!) I picked up on the snowflakes with... duh... snowflakes.  I did emboss them in silver.

I hope you like it and that you decide to play along with us.  Check out the designs the rest of team came up with on 'Tis the Season. And you can even participate in the call for designers for the team!  Read all the details by clicking on the link for the blog.

Thanks for looking!
