Dynamic Twofer!

 Here's another two for this week's Dynamic Duo color challenge:  Certainly Celery and Pretty-in-Pink.  But I also used the sketch challenge over on Stamping 411!  A twofer!  I love it!

Do you see the celery?  It's in the leaves, of course!  I started with a base of Crumb Cake.  Then I used an embossed layer of Blushing Bride, and before you say it, I know it isn't Pretty-in-Pink, but a new addition to the Dynamic Duo blog tells me that I can use similar colors, and since I have pleated ribbon in Blushing Bride, I decided to go for Blushing Bride instead of the Pretty-in Pink.  Creative license.

Next, I used a layer of Crumb Cake DSP (it's old... back when they called it Kraft).  Then I stamped the image from Apothecary Art and used the framelit to cut it out.  Next I  colored in the image with... no, not my markers but instead with a Q-tip!  What?  I know!!!  So cool.  To color in the leaves I used my blender pen and Certainly Celery ink.

Subtly Yours, A Dynamic Duo Color Challenge

 Once again, I struggled a bit for this challenge this week.  Maybe it's my mojo, maybe it's the springy theme that these colors bring to mind.  Whatever the case may be, I wanted to play, once again, with this week's color challenge on Dynamic Duos: Certainly Celery and Pretty-in-Pink.

I have a great big board hanging in my studio that has lots of ideas: cards from swaps, from magazines, or from stores (...shudder...).  On my board I have one of these fancy fold cards and decided to pull out my pattern pack and use the pink.

 Here's the first one.  A base of Whisper White, a layer of Certainly Celery, and then the Pretty-in-Pink DSP.  Too cute!  In the center there's a 1 1/4" white square topped with a celery postage stamp punch, topped with a 1" square of white that has the image from Cute By the Inch stamped on it.  I colored the stamp using my celery and pink markers.  I popped that stamped image on the top.

I also added a 1/4" white grosgrain.  Inside, the sentiment reads "Happy Birthday" from the Happiest Birthday Wishes set.  Both the sets I used are retired hostess sets... the gift that keeps on giving!

This is the second card I made.  It's a card evolution!  I took the same basic pattern I used above but stepped it up a bit.  I added a polka dot embossed layer of pink below the celery layer, which was a bit bigger than the one above.  I also added a polka dotted ribbon, tying in the theme of polka dots on this card.  Again, inside I have the Happy Birthday sentiment.

Silent Night Christmas Tree

Okay, okay, this is my last one (maybe).  But if you're following my blog (shameless begging alert... please follow my blog, pretty please...) you'll know that I just got my most recent Stampin' Up order, a bunch of holiday stamp sets and toys and since they are so new, it's what I'm using to complete The Friday Mashup's weekly challenge:  to create a black and white card, to create a card with bling, or mash-it-up and make a black and white card with bling.

I tried this a bunch of different ways, but nothing was working.  Finally, I stamped the solid tree from Evergreen on Basic Black with the new Illuminate ink.  It gives it a kind of silvery shine.  I'm glad it came out so well in the photo!  In real life, it is beautiful!  I highly recommend this ink pad!

I stamped the words over the solid images of the tree in the stazon white.  I topped the tree with a large rhinestone.  I used the sentiment on the bottom from an old retired set that I bought from an upline.  I added white grosgrain ribbon and then added it to a layer of white and then a layer of black, and then I added a line of holes pierced down the side (I'm into paper piercing these days....)

Black and White and Bling, oh my...

Oh my, oh my, oh my!  How much do I love the Ornament Keepsakes and matching framelit dies????  So so much!

This is my second card for this week's challenge on The Friday Mashup.  The challenge is to make a black and white card, or make a card with bling, or mash-it-up and make a black and white card with bling.  I had to go for the mashup!

I used my newest order, including the new ink, Illuminate.  It gives this shimmery, silvery looking finish that I just LOVE!

I added a big bling in the center and four pieces of black bling in the corners.  Inside is the sentiment Merry Christmas from Hand-Penned Holidays.

I also used the Festive paper-piercing pack.  I just love that, too!

Black and White Christmas

I know that "The Most Wonderful Day of the Year" is usually reserved for Christmas day, but that's the tune I was singing today as my most recent order from Stampin' Up came in today!  Today I received Ornament Keepsakes and just had to use it!  Especially when I saw The Friday Mashup's newest challenge: use black and white or use bling, or mash-it-up and make a black and white card with bling on it.

Thus a card is born...  I used my new stuff!

Colors:  Basic Black, Whisper White
Sets:  Ornament Keepsakes, Hand-Penned Holidays (inside)
Other: Holiday Ornament Framelits, rhinestones, Holiday Frame embossing folder, sponge dauber

Vintage....?

Okay... truth time...  I really don't get the concept of vintage cards.  I even googled "What makes a card vintage?"  I really don't completely get it.  But I wanted to try anyway.  You know how much I love The Friday Mashup blog.  This week, their challenge is to create a project with a stick pin on it, or create a vintage project (???), or mash it up and do both.  So I don't have any stick pins, I don't get vintage, but I am up to the challenge.

I wanted to use my new Perfectly Preserved set, which I hadn't used yet.

Colors:  Chocolate Chip, Natural White, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery
Stamps:  Perfectly Preserved
Other:  Small oval, embossing folder, ribbon (non-SU), distressing tool, stamping dimensionals

It's so Wonderfall!

This was quite the challenge!  Man, where did my mojo go???  I have no idea.  I was quite perplexed when I saw this week's Dynamic Duo color challenge: Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi.

I definitely struggled for a bit before I came up with this card.  I stared at my newest stamp sets and deciding that I needed to ink up Wonderfall and used the Bigz Die that matches.

I used three neutrals (that's not against the rules is it?): Chocolate Chip, Natural White, and Crumb cake.  Of course, I also used Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi.  For inks, I used Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso, and versa-mark.

I used both Wonderfall and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I also used a garden twine to tie a bow, adding to the natural look of this card.

Inside, I added an Early Espresso acorn.
